HAPPY NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY!!!

I truly miss the store today. *sigh* If you've been a regular at the store you know that we would be partying with cake, punch, demos, make and takes, sales and more sales! I miss seeing everyone and I hope everyone is doing good. :)

Ok, to our new kit. This month's kit is just BREATHTAKING...yes, I did run of words to describe this month's kit. LOL! :D But I think you'll agree with me that truly this kit is BREATHTAKING...

And now for our add-on kit...yes, I ran out of words again to describe this kit...except to say it's simply STUNNING...I think you'll agree. :D

Kit Contents: STUNNING

Moxxie: Black Scallop Diecut Paper
Adornit: Prairie Paper, Blue Oval Plaid, Tweet Birdie Swirls
Pink Paislee: Spectacular, Irresistible Papers
American Crafts: SUBWAY (Powder) Thickers
Technique Tuesday: Little Labels Stamp
Cheep Trim: Light Blue Fringe Trim

STUNNING Kit is $15.00

Kits are on their way to Yoyin in the Philippines. Philippine Scrappers, please email Yoyin at Rollyn97@yahoo.com to reserve your kits. U.S. and other International Scrappers, please email me at scrapbookshawaii@yahoo.com to order your kits. :)

Here's a very simple layout I did last week during the BYO at the Kalihi Library using the Adornit's Tweet Birdie Swirls and Prairie papers, Technique Tuesday stamp and light blue fringe from STUNNING, and Anna Griffin's solid-colored brad and journaling card from BREATHTAKING. OHANA was cut from BB Raven cardstock using the SLICE and i also added some Prima flowers to the journaling card. It's hard to see here, but I also added stickles to the petals of the flower on the Tweet Birdie Swirls paper to bump it up a bit.

ATB Challenge Winner

As we predicted, Jennifer Straus did have a tough time judging the entries for our ATB Challenge. hehehe Gaganda kasi ng mga entries. :) So, without further ado, I'm forwarding the snippets of the email Jen sent me:

"Ok, I was right in thinking the contest would be difficult to judge!!! Everyone's designs are wonderful. I love the way the products were used and the sentiments and journaling (especially on the "In Memory Of" designs) were so touching!

All that said, I chose "No Photos Please" as my favorite. Here's why:

• The techninque of the painting through a screen for a background texture sets the photos and journaling up nicely as a background.

• The photos are fun! The subject matter of not wanting a photo taken is the frustration of a scrapbooker! Even though the boy didn't want his photo taken, the photgrapher got some fun and interesting shots!

• The use of the ATB paper is wonderful! It's so much fun to see it sewn, the swirls cut out, the edges ripped on the frame and the arrow pointing to the photo, establishing a focal point.

• The journaling is creative - love the layered look and the use of color. The black ties it all together."

Jennifer also is inviting all ATB Challenge to post their work on the ATB Gallery. It's free and it only takes a few seconds to do.http://www.aroundtheblockproducts.com/gallery.php
And here's the winning entry:

b. Adhere the floral patterns on the right side, just touching a small portion of the photo, and on the upper left side of the 8x8 paper. (Just adjust the photo below it for balance)
